numerous changes
Well, since my last post, I have changed jobs, forced resignation.
Basically, my previous employer is blacklisting me at this point. Totally unfoundedly. She has no management experience, no education (beyond highschool - and I question if she even graduated from highschool). I am strongest at being a patient advocate, she doesn't agree with nurses disputing doctors orders. I have had to go over a doctors head (d/t him ordering a crazy/deadly mix of blood pressure medications) to get a specialists suggestion. Had to change numerous medications (of course with doctors order), due to the patients rarely being evaluated for changes. In the end, everything that was done turned out in a hugely promising light. Yet the administration chooses to try and tell me what to do, how to do MY job, when she has no knowledge of medicine. It was crazy to say the least. And even though it was against my best judgment, and truly wasn't in the best interest of the patients, I resigned, due to major conflict of interest with the admin. She cared only about the money involved, not to mention she was obviously intimidated by my knowledge, and my ability to get along with all of the staff and her lack of that ability. The staff pretty much despised her and they respected me, and were glad I was there. Which was totally different than what the administration was feeling.
Since my resignation, I have had difficulty landing a job. Found out why, it was due to reference checks made on my previous employer. It's a sad state when an employer doesn't know the law, has no management skills and lacks ethics/morals. But what can I do? Obviously I don't have to put this on my resume. Don't plan on it anymore since I found this out.
What hurts the most is I miss my patients, and have been advised not to visit them anymore. Wish I could change it, but I can't. I'm just hoping I can get a job soon and go on with my life.
